Get ready for a major upgrade to your Tube travel experience! London's iconic underground transport system is about to become a whole lot more connected. Transport for London (TfL) has announced that high-speed mobile coverage is rapidly expanding across the Tube network, with more stations and underground sections now offering faster connectivity.
But here's where it gets controversial: the coverage isn't just about convenience. It's part of a larger vision to transform London into a digital powerhouse, driving innovation and economic growth.
The Elizabeth line is already fully covered, and key stations like Euston Square, Cannon Street, and Battersea Power Station are now connected. And this is the part most people miss: the coverage extends to the Circle and District lines, with King's Cross St Pancras, Gloucester Road, and other stations set to join the network soon.
TfL aims to have the vast majority of the Northern and Metropolitan lines covered by the end of summer 2026. But the real game-changer is the Emergency Services Network, which will provide first responders with immediate access to critical data when fully operational.
The work isn't stopping anytime soon. Throughout 2026, engineers will continue their overnight installation efforts, focusing on sections outside central London and smaller tunnelled areas that require individual attention.
